38 Weeks

August is upon us, meaning the arrival of F is imminent. As I write this, we are about 277 hours (give or take a day or so) from his ETA, though I've wisened up to the fact that he could camp out for at least another week after that. Hopefully not any longer, as my patience has begun to wear a bit thin (okay, very thin). It's not like I'm uncomfortable or am having trouble moving around (quite the opposite; I'm feeling as good as usual), but I'm just really ready to finally meet this baby! Everything is all set up for his homecoming and both Mark and I are as prepared as we'll ever be to welcome him into the world.

Since last week's doctor's appointment proved to be rather fruitless, I'm hoping for a more exciting update at my next visit on Thursday morning. But if things remain status quo, I've vowed to get out of dodge (er, Hoboken) for the weekend since I'm already starting to feel a bit stir-crazy around the apartment. I guess knowing that I'll be basically housebound for the first couple of weeks following F's arrival is making me want to head toward the hills--or at least upstate. We'll probably go hang with Aunt Bec and Karl in New Paltz; maybe a little bit of that fresh country air will kickstart me into labor?! We shall see...
