12 Weeks

Just call her stretch! Just around the corner from her 3-month mark, Nora is now 25.5 inches long--a whopping two inches longer than she was at her last measurement just 27 days before. That's a lot of growing! In that time she only put on about a 1/3 of a pound, putting her in the "string bean" category. Not surprised, given she's got plenty of long-and-lanky in her genes.

We're doing really, really well in the sleep-department. A great night is 8 hours straight, a good night is two four-hour blocks broken up by one feeding (usually at 3:30 a.m.) and a so-so night entails a few stretches of three hours. I'm happy to say that we have more good nights than so-so nights. The great ones have been few and far between but we're making progress. Plus, a six or seven hour block of sleep is so precious that I've been able to recharge my batteries enough to endure at least a week of broken-up sleep.

In terms of milestones, Nora is smiling a lot (as you can see in these pictures, she has a few variety of grins). She tolerates tummy time and is really working to roll herself over. She has also found her hands and uses them to keep herself occupied when her pacifier isn't around. Her doctor said she is doing great developmental-wise; we just need to work on her losing that lingering congestion which may take until spring.

Here are Nora's stats at 2months, 20 days. I'll try to do my own measurements on her actual 3-month birthday on February 18.

Weight: 11.63 lbs (45.5 percentile)
Length: 25.5 in (99.3 percentile)
Head: 15.75 in (61.2 percentile)
