Nine Weeks

This week, Eamon attended two weddings. One for his Aunt Bec and Uncle John, and the other for Cousin Patrick and Mary. That made for a total of seven nights away from home and about 200 new faces to meet. The trips threw him off his schedule a bit, but he was a trooper and behaved beautifully during the receptions, ceremonies, and the flight to and from Chicago.

Other new things he's doing this week:

Smiling a ton. He especially likes it when Mark or I stick our tounges out at him, give him Eskimo Kisses, or raise our eyebrows up and down.

Sucking his thumb. Taking after his old lady, Eamon has become a bit of a thumb sucker. Or make that fist sucker--if he can't get the whole thing in his mouth, he'll just settle on his thumb.

Riding in the Bjorn. We broke it out last week and I've taken Eamon in two long walks with him facing out so he can see the scenery. He loves looking around and will even fall asleep in it.

Rolling over (kinda). We're trying to get him to lay on his stomach as much as possible to avoid the dreaded flat head. Lately, he had been pushing off from one side and lifts himself up as though to roll over but stops short. Today, however, he actually went form his front to his back twice...but I don't think he was very happy about it.

Cat Napping. Most babies like to nap. Ours? Not so much. He saves up all of his sleepytime for night (7-8 hour stretches on average) and usually sleeps no more than 30 minutes at a time during the day. Makes getting any work done pretty impossible, but I'm not complaining as long as he is sleeping through the night!
