So, here's the scoop:
Weight: 22.25 pounds (up 3 pounds from 6 months): 73rd percentile
Length: 29.75 inches (up almost 2 inches from 6 months): 88th percentile
And yes, his head remains in the 97th percentile...no surprise, there!
In the past month, Eamon has become increasingly active. He's gone from crawling (started that at 8 months) to cruising seemingly overnight and is very stable on his feet. He actually prefers to be standing now instead of sitting, so he'll pull himself up on anything he can get his clutches on--my leg, the coffee table, cabinents, poles, etc. It's neat--and scary--to watch. Walking is not too far off. We've definitely got a strong-willed boy on our hands...take him away from something he wants and watch out! He literally kicks and screams when he doesn't get his way. I'm trying to teach him this isn't the way things operate around here, but how do you impart such wisdom into a 9 month old? He usually just gives me a wry smile and looks at me with those big, brown eyes whenever I say "no!" or "hot!" (as I do about 1,000 times a day), as though he knows he's not supposed to be doing whatever it is he's doing...but is going to do it, anyway.
These challenges (which aren't really challenges, really) aside, we couldn't have asked for a happier, cuter, more fun-loving little guy. He loves going places--to the store, the post office, out on a run--and goes out of his way to smile at strangers. He's crazy about dogs. And he is discovering the joys of finger foods (cheese, chicken, pasta, fish, puffs, etc.). He has four teeth with one more popping through, and says "Mama", "Dada" and "Baba" (not necessarily for any reason...yet). Growing up way too fast!
