Eamon hit the 15 month mark last week. That makes him 15 months going on, well, 3 years. He has, for the most part, left his baby days behind and is a walking, talking (well, babbling!) toddler. Which makes life as exciting as it is exhausting--for Mark and I as well as Eamon. He discovers something new every day and continously picks up new "tricks", new words, even new facial expressions. I love seeing him evolve into a little boy--and a stubborn, hilarious and adorable one at that.
These days, Eamon runs his mouth all day (while we're at home, at least...he's still a bit shy elsewhere), and while he occasionally throws in actual words, he's speaking a lot of gobbledeygook. It all is delivered with such meaning and inflexion that you've got to believe he thinks he's really talking. I'm trying to encourage him to use words (English, at least) as I've heard him say so many. But then again, the gibberish is so funny to hear and I know this is a fleeting phase that I just go with it.
Speaking of words (which seems to be the most obvious milestone these days, given he's conquered the physical marks of walking, running and climbing), his vocab du jour includes lots of "No's" (with adamant headshaking), "no more", "thank you" (with an emphasis on the YOU!), "thanks", "mama" "dada", "papa", "all done", "dog", "woof","ball", "cracker", "bus", etc. There are more I'm forgetting...I should write them down. He's also started to nod his head a lot, especially when he hears music.
He's getting better at following direction and sharing, though that's something we really have to work on when it comes to other little ones. He is NOT happy giving up a toy to someone his size, and will bulldoze his way back into any scenario to get something he wants. I worry about this behavior a lot, especially since he's biggger than most of the other babies,, but know 15-month-olds don't have a grasp on the needs of others. This is the time in his life when he can be completely selfish and totally get away with it!
Here are his stats for the month:
Length: 33.5 inches (97 percentile)
Weight: 26.8 pounds (80 percentile)
Head: 19.6 inches (98 percentile)
