3 Weeks

Nora is almost one month old! We are so happy to say that she is HEALTHY and thriving after a very big scare earlier this month. We spent 8 very long nights at the hospital as she was treated and then recovering from RSV. This is a fairly common virus among children, but especially dangerous in newborns. Our doctor detected some abnormal congestion at her 10-day checkup, and sent us to the ER where we were told she was fine. Long story short, she took a quick downhill turn within the next 24 hours, at which point we returned to the hospital and stayed there until last Thursday.

No one wants their brand-new baby in the hospital, hooked up to monitors and reliant on oxygen blasts to breathe. But if there was a place to be, that was it, and Nora was treated with excellent care. RSV cannot be treated with medication, so we had to let it run its course. Now that she is home, she hasn't stopped eating and is acting like a very typical 3-week-old. Her cries are music to my ears because a little less than two weeks ago, she was almost too weak to cry.

Hoping for a healthy winter! And many more of these adorable happy Nora moments.
